I cant shoot a camera either

Postby Lefty » 08 02, 2013 •  [Post 1]

O had a good scouting trip and found these guys in my back up area

Ive been choking on the four different bulls Ive drawn on in the last 4 years I found out last night I just cant funtion with the excitement of seeing such magnificant animals
I got a number of pictures that didnt even have the elk in them

Whats is zoom, or focus? Or even level?

Nice pics.

Just like your pictures the choking will get better with practice.

don't feel too bad, I'll bet the image in your brain is a lot clearer. At least you have your memory, I can relate as I'm the worlds worst photographer.

Nice looking bulls there !! I use a trail camera on whitetails but never had a problem with the focus. Maybe a faulty camera perhaps ?

Cheap, $107.00 Cannon powershot. Completely operater error,.. or bull fever

reat bulls! Seems a little early to be snowing though!

I did a bit of editing to the back ground ,.. there was a background that if someone knew the area they might be able to ID the location

Yes.
However there is a reason few guys hunt here. The elk population is very low. The elk travel huge distances for food , water and a quiet place to rest.

A neighbor ladys family farms near here ( close being relitive) they have depredation permits every year,.. and permits were out for depredation with a very low success rate. I dont get a lot of days to hunt and likely know the area better than even the guy running cows he's and elk hunter and made the comment to the effect. His own ranch and lease and he doesnt hunt elk there. " I would rather drive a ways to get my elk than hope I might see an elk here"
While Ive spent a lot of time scouting the area I have found the types of places the elk travel and bed mid to late season

The fish and game doesnt like any of the lowland/desert country elk in Idaho because of the farm field depredation and are too generous giving out tags  , even reducing what is there to smaller numbers. Young inexpierienced elk die early or stay away from people well
