Thought I'd share a pic I took of some bulls lounging alongside the road that I spotted on my way to Crate Lake, OR.

Looks like the elk sanctuary west of Eugene.

twinkieman- I think it was Dean Creek viewing area. We drove down the 101 and then across on 38 towards Crater Lake. I was watching as best as possible to spot free-ranging, wild elk but all to no avail! Then, right next to the road where I could pull off, there they were. Not the same but I'll take it.

Nice group of bulls, Erik.

Here's a couple from Nor Cal last weekend...I think they have it figured out!

I might have had a better chance at seeing some but my 11 year old boy got sick walking back up the trail from the lake so we left earlier than I would have liked. Poor kid heaved pretty good about half way back up. I thought I was going to have to give him a piggy back ride to the top! Glad he made on his on steam-he weighs a short ton!! lol

Those are some bright animals right there Jeff! How great would it be to own that little piece of paradise?

While seeing wild elk might have been your intent, seeing these magnificent animals in any way is awesome. Thanks for the pics.
