cow bugle

Postby westaner » 08 03, 2013 •  [Post 1]

I was in yellowstone near seven mile bridge yesterday when I pulled over for a cow elk just up hill 20 yards , to close to let the tourists out so I just explained to them how the calf is left hidden in the grass somewhere safe while the mother feeds further away . Then like scripted the cow gives two loud lost mews five seconds apart then bugles , we look out in the tall grass where she's looking and a calf pops up looking in every direction not sure were mother is . The cow sees the calf has no idea where the sound came from so she gives four or five more loud lost mews back to back . Then calf comes running and begins nursing!
I only got the last part on film , mised the cow bugle! I'm definetly going to use the cow bugle in all my lost cow calling setups from now on ;)
