Morning hike up mountain, best travel route

Postby Swamp Buck » 08 07, 2013 •  [Post 1]

How do you best like to travel up the mountain in the morning? Ridge line, river bottom, or side hill? Assuming you are just looking for elk and have not found elk.

Any way possible, although I try to stay away from running water, as it makes it hard to hear.

I try to ridgeline up as long as you have some cover till the elevation I want to hunt then sidehill or whatever the elk tell me to do. Stay away from water while hiking as it is loud and will drain out the sounds of the area.
