Bears moved out, Bulls moved in... PICS!

Postby cnelk » 08 18, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Went to my other trail camera that has showed mostly bears.
I was last there about a month ago.
We hung another stand in the tree so 2 people can enjoy the show

Seems like the bulls have moved in in preparation for the rut.
As far as I can tell, a nice 5pt, a small 6pt and a 4pt

Now the decision on where to hunt!

I pulled my cams on Friday after only being out 2 weeks. This was my first attempt at trail cams. They were not stolen so I was happy. I only have a few cow and calf pictures but they were only at 10,600 feet and only out for 2 weeks. I have pics of 2 people too. Made me more aware of the number of people who know the spot. I switched to my plan B area to start my hunting.

I spotted a spike on Friday evening that did not have velvet. I did not see any newer rubs.

Nice! I've had a few cams out since late July. Haven't seen a single bull on them yet, but consistently getting cows/calves, so guessing the bulls are gonna join the ladies soon. Also got a bobcat, and a decent muley buck (best buck I've ever seen in my hunting area, which isn't saying much). This is also my first year using game cameras, and it's been fun. Adds a whole other element to scouting, and seems to really help in understanding what's there and what isn't. Will probably drop in on them one more time next weekend for the last visit before season opens. Hoping to see some velvet!
