GMU 444 - Colorado

Postby COhoythunter » 12 02, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Hello fellow Elkoholics,

I am seeking some education and guidence. My father is a 64 years old disabled vet and planing to come out to Colorado for his last elk hunt next fall - 2015. He hunted elk extensively when we lived in Colorado about 25 years ago, he now lives in Illonis, but I have since moved back to the state. We are planning on getting him a 1st season rifle tag, an either sex or cow, that tag includes units 45, 44, 444 and 47. I have hunted unit 45 extensively but not the others. I am particularlly interested in 444.. Can anyone please give me some pointers? I want to make this hunt as memorable as possible with or without harvesting an Elk.. My father has had two knee replacements and is not going to be able to do a ton of crazy hiking so any easier access areas would be great! Please and thank you !
