How to Post Pics in your Posts

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 08 11, 2016 •  [Post 1]

How to upload and post pics: When you're in your post, click "upload attachment" on the bottom. Then "browse". When the "choose file to upload" screen pops up, just find the file/attachment you're trying to upload and click "open". Then, click "add the file". That takes a bit to load and you'll see the file name appear, then, select/click "place inline". The link to the image should be seen in your post now. After that, you can either select "preview" to see what you have, or, just click "submit". If the file/image fails to load, it's probably too large (see below).

How to resize: Pics need to be a maximum of 800X600 pixels. Sometimes our digital cameras, smart phones, even trail cams produce a picture larger than 800X600. The easiest way I've found to resize images is to save the images (pics) to computer desktop then open the pics in MS Paint (right click on image and select "open with MS paint"). Once image opens in paint, click "resize" on top left. When the box opens up, select the pixels circle, then use the horizontal and vertical boxes to enter maximum 800 X 600 pixels. Sometimes, you need to uncheck the "maintain aspect ratio" to make the pictures come out looking right. Just gotta play with it a bit. Once done, just click save on top left and your pics should be resized and good to go to upload.

We love pictures here. Happy pic posting :D.. RJ

These instructions will likely result in more photo's being posted successfully.
I'm looking forward to seeing others great "in the field" photo's this fall and hopefully can contribute one of my own.

Thanks RJ.

Thank you for posting this information. Trying to resize from my phone was difficult. Mainly because of user error.

A really great FREE program for editing pictures is Irfanview. You can resize pictures with a click of the mouse and you can even resize multiple pictures at the same same time with a batch process.

Not sure if this is the easiest way, but this is how I do it with my IPhone. Click on Post Reply, type text, scroll down to Upload attachment tab (click), over to Choose file tab (click), select Photo Library (click), find pic you want in Camera Roll on your Iphone (select), Add the file (click), once you see the blue bar stop moving on top (uploading file) then click Upload attachment tab, put cursor in the text/post body where you want the image to go, then click Place inline tab. Once you see the image has been placed in your text/post body, you can either click Preview or Submit. I just uploaded this pic using my Iphone; it is very similar to uploading from a PC. Let me know if you have any other questions. RJ

Mark, I just checked in the ACP and can't see any feature that allows users to send pics in PMs. I'll follow up with my smart web guy and see if he knows of a way I can allow it. RJ

A trick I use for my smartphone and ipad is edit the image slightly. Then it loads in the correct orientation on WT. If I don't do that the image will be upside down or sideways
