I don't plan to do much, but will try a little for a Blacktail buck and probably a cow elk.

lion hunting for me :D

I will be going with friends during rifle elk season as time permits, my brother in law, and father in law have late archery tags as well I will tag along with. hoping I get to pack some more elk before it's over....oh yeah, my sis in law has a late archery cow tag too. I will be busy in the woods during time off until early Dec, then mountain lions for me in an attempt to fill that second tag.

right in the middle of deer hunting here. My daughter had a 150"+ buck coming and needed a couple more steps when an unseen doe came running along and the buck followed her. Man, is she MADDDDDDDD!

I have my general deer tag, which late rifle whitetail opens on the 11th. Also have my whitetail raffle tag, which i can use any time anywhere. So i need to get 2 good whitetail bucks, plus cougar hunting will be happening when im done with that. Just talked to my work and got the green light to be off through mid december, so life is good.

General archery deer and second antlerless deer special permit. Top off that freezer with some blacktail. I'm having back surgery this Friday and supposed to be hunting the second weekend of Dec. We'll see how that goes

I have given up on that stupid tooth fairy. As I have gotten older I am loosing teeth much faster than I can afford to replace them. Do you think she has left me even a dime to sooth my pain and sadness? Heck no. I certainly did not get any help with implants either.
I had about $8,000 invested it two root canals, a crown, and a bridge. I got fed up with the continuous problem and went to another dentist. She said your tooth is abscessed and needs to be pulled. There went the crown, the root canal work, and the bridge. Oh well; what is another couple of hundred dollars after wasting about $8,000? It makes a guy just want to go hunting and stay there.

I would agree with you if there were miles and miles of public land I could hunt on... I lucked into a private property this year, but it is will most likely be JUST this year. It's a blessing, but it won't last long.

i watched one of the coolest hunts i have ever seen today over my buddies shoulder, fun to get back out, now i have to find someone else to tag along with :D

pretty mellow terrain, but 2.5mile pack, i took a hind and front on the first trip, and a hind on the second, gotta stay in shape ;) fun hunt, turned into a good plan, 3 buddies with tags, all done within about a half hour with 3 groups of elk. didn't think it would go that smooth.

Well my remaining deer hunts are probably out now. Sucks, I burned up a few points for my special permit too. Had my L4/L5 and L5/S1 surgery a week and 3 days ago, and my left foot feels like Icy Hot is running through the veins in my foot and my whole left leg is a pulsating, crampy mess. Been laid-up ever since and no signs of getting through this nerve pain any time soon. Good times.

Happy hunting!

No big game left for me, I have some coyote hunts planned with my boys over the next couple weekends. I love yote hunting with my boys, 8 and 6. It’s good training for the elk hunts ahead.

Nice... Are the yote hides worth anything anymore? I remember a time (back in the day I spose) that we got a few coins for those darn dog hides in NW MT. Tell us about how you hunt them critters? There's a ton of them around my part of the country and I think it'd be a hoot to get the Mrs. out with her new anti critter boom stick hunting them.

I don’t mess with the hides. Not enough coin for for the work. It’s just fun getting out and hunting them.

I use a fox pro electronic call, I understand these are good in elk camp too, We set it out about 50 yards in front of us and use either distress rabbit calls or yote barks and howls. Sit for about 30-45 minutes then move in to the next spot. It’s great for training the boys.

Well, an early migration event kicked my butt in Montana this year. I had to hunt 6 days just to find a mule deer bigger than a 2 pt. I wound up on a couple day old elk sign in one area, but that was it. At least I got meat in the freezer.

I usually go out for late season archery, but have a family trip most of the season this year. I noticed Idaho has a newer muzzleloader cow season next to private ground. I haven't shot one for probably 25 years. A buddy is letting me borrow his muzzleloader so here we go again!
