New to the forum, looking to gain some knowledge about elk hunting. Have been twice to Colorado with not much luck. Looking to go back to Colorado this fall for a rifle hunt. Thanks and I look forward to learning from everyone on this forum.

Welcome to the forum mister, glad to have you on board. Feel free to pull up a log by the fire and chime in whenever you wish! I'd try to not sit by Swede or Tigger around the fire though, they both spit a lot and are known to play pranks. ;)

natek, it is great to have you at the W.T campfire. Beware, there are more than two inmates in the asylum here that you need to keep an eye on. They are harmless, but can get in the way of a very serious discussion on things that may be important to you.

We have been hunting aroumd Meeker but are looking to find a new area this year. Considering doing a trespass or drop camp hunt if that increases our chances.

Thanks looking forward to learning a lot on this forum.

Do you have any preference points? Any interest in 54, West Elks wilderness for drop camp? 70, Lone Cone for trespass hunt? You may find 2018 already booked, or filling up fast for outfit or trespass hunts.

I will definitely check those out. Have you had any experience with either one?

Not personally, DIY cheapskate here. Friends have. I PMed another member here who was on a 54 drop camp hunt last fall, told him you were wanting info. He'll probably reply to this thread or PM you. He went w Eagle Mtn Outfitters: http://www.eaglemountainoutfitters.com/

Several trespass options here, or Google: http://www.wildgoose.com/elkhunts.htm
