I carry those little Starbucks tube thingies. Pick them up at WalMart. I like a stout coffee.

Been using the G7 3-in-1 coffee packet for a long time now. Good stuff with coffee, cream, and sugar in one small container.

I chase down my oatmeal with a Starbuck Via. Something about the taste just feels right when your 3, 4, 5 miles in and its 500 a.m. Sometimes when I wake up early in the morning at home I'll have one and sit in the back yard with my eyes closed. Listening to the emptiness of morning takes me right back to my bivi camp wherever that happed to be the previous year.

The convenience and ease of use of the Starbucks VIA packets is their biggest selling point. I find them to be pricey for what they are and have moved on to a similar product from Cafe Bustelo.

The OP inquired about coffee for backpacking and few folks that I know of are willing to lug around a French press or percolator even if it delivers a superior cup of coffee.

I prefer the Folgers coffee in the tubes. I prefer the taste and the ease of use. I am not a Starbucks person, but their tube coffee is as easy as any other, and if you prefer a stronger tasting coffee, they are the way to go.

I have been using the G7 3in1 as well. I have not seen the folger's tubes, might have to check those out.
