North Carolina legislature sets elk hunting fees

Postby RedSpruce » 08 29, 2018 •  [Post 1]

There is not elk hunting season yet in NC but the state legislature set fees for any future hunting season.Elk are not game animals in NC but non game.

In addition to a regular hunting license

$500 dollar permit for any resident

$1000 dollar permit for any non resident

These might be the highest elk license fees in North America but I don't know

For a limited resource that still could be fair.
I would rather pay a $15 or so application fee for a draw,.. and auction a tag or two for that crazey dollar to help bring in money.

Nope. Wyoming elk in the Special draw: $1268 plus Conservation Stamps, plus Special Management stamp. Not to mention the $100 worth of points it takes to draw! It’s about a $1400 tag.

Are there big bulls in North Carolina? I’d apply there. It’s an easy drive for me. I like the Carolinas.
