Lone Mesa State Park-CO

Hey Everybody

I am headed out to Colorado from Pennsylvania for my first Elk Hunt this October. I will be hunting Lone Mesa State Park in Colorado. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the park. I am trying to learn as much as I can about the area.

Pretty area, I actually took my wife and son to the area while we were on vacation this summer. Lots of wildfires in the NF outside the park this summer, I don't know if any fires got into the park or not.
No camping in the SP, but lots of places outside on NF land. Nearest town Delores is about an hour from the park. What season are you going?
