Still going good in Wyoming

Postby Indian Summer » 09 28, 2018 •  [Post 1]

My last Wyoming report was from early on in bow season. As some might recall one of the units I offer hunt plans in has a September rifle opener and the bulls definitely bugle late out there. Into mid October as a matter of fact. The season has been open for 3 days and so far 5 bulls down. Some hunters hunted for half the hunt with a bow and then sealed the deal with their rifle. Two bulls hit the ground in the first hour of the first morning.

Those of you who have never hunted the Cowboy State don’t know what you’re missing. There’s still time to buy a preference point which you need to draw a license. Two points will get you a tag. Elevations aren’t too bad. No grizzlies in these areas.

This bull was shot mid day yesterday. This could be you! If you are interested in a hunt plan for 2019 now is the time to think about it. Look me up.

spent a couple nights with these guys when i was hunting with your brother for my outfitted hunt. they were just finishing up as my dad and came into camp. There are pretty fun to shoo the sH** with around the campfire. Cant for the life of me remember their names. the guy in the middle I remember having some good laughs with as we got into some political talk

They are a blast. Matt on the right booked 8 hunts with me over the years. One season I gave him a customer appreciation hunt. He paid me $1000 for food etc and I told him he could hunt for a month if he wanted to. He killed his bull halfway through the second week and stuck around another week just living it up. The guy on the left is Dave. Brian is in the middle and this is his first bull. All really fun guys.

One year they came back to camp and all there beer was “gone”. Haha So I told them I knew how to find beer with a stick. I made divining rods out of pine twigs and walked all around searching. I came to a hay bale and “miraculously” the sticks crossed! Under the bale was a plastic lined pit full of beer with 30 pounds of ice I had packed in that afternoon. A cowboy cooler! I had some great times with those guys for sure.

Another one down. It’s been a great year for big bulls. His 12 year old son got a bull too. I’m at the airport right now... anxious is an understatement! This bull was a 15 minute level walk from the truck. Sometimes the hunting gods smile on you.

Kessler this bull was along the road to the area you and I talked about. Next client asking for a Wyoming plan gets it!
