Hard Water

Postby jmez » 12 17, 2016 •  [Post 1]

Ice is on. Got out for the first time today. 5 walleye. Pretty slow bite but was good to get out. Really cold though. Pickup thermometer when I left said -23. We'll have good ice for a while.

Get out to Oahe? Plenty cold for making good ice. Makes me a little nervous with all the snow cover. I havent even dusted off the ice fishing gear yet, still trying to figure out how im going to get my stands down with all this snow...... Need to take care of that first. Then ill be heading out for some walleye action. Ive had a few friends fishing close to the border (cattail, beaver) that are doing pretty well.

No local reservoir, Orman lake. We have 13 inches of ice.
