I guess this is the place for bird hunting, my other addiction after big game season ends :D Anyone else out there enjoy upland and waterfowl season?

I've done very little but I'd love to do more. Pa has more than it's share of waterfowl. Maybe I'll try to get out there this year at some point. I love the duck hunting best mostly because I'd rather eat them.

Im a waterfowl nut,.. or sort of use to be.
I use to try for different goals: while living in Utah, 7 bird limit with 7 shots, Kill 4geese in one flight, or 4 shots, all drake birds of one spices, or of 7 different specifies. Not all days work that well :o

A buddy and I found a large number of Cans on a small spring. We jump shot that spring 12 days in a row( excluding Sundays) we ended up with23 bull cans and my buddy accidentally killed a hen .
Waterfowl just worked better for me with kids at home. Early morning hunts and to be home for breakfast afternoon hunts after school with the kids

I use to shoot a lot of forest grouse, but elk have now gotten in the way. :D Years back we hunted SD and Iowa for fox, I kind of burned up some of the excitement I ate ring necks and Hungarians daily for weeks on end Ive probably killed more roosters with a .22 than a shotgun

Wawhitey, he's actually a Drathaar with very short hair, I have two of them now, and they are great dogs, but hunting over water below freezing is a little rough on them.

Love upland, and would love waterfowl more if they tasted better. Sadly we got too busy this year trying to sell our house and didn't make it out. Which isn't a big deal except the Shorthair is 13.5 and not sure if he'll be up for much next year. Last six months he's really started showing his age.

Nice pile of green there Curly! It's definitely addicting, and a great way to pass the winter months

We are having a very slow season this year with the mild temps. I NEED a decent 20 drake hunt for my mental health.
