Quill Lake Goose

Postby CurlyTail » 02 01, 2016 •  [Post 1]

We shot a Quill Lake goose today. Had a prominent white stripe across the chest a white spots on the webbed feet. We see one or two a year it seems.

Very cool! Had to look it up as I'm not familiar with them, it's always fun to harvest one of the birds you don't see often.

Western Nebraska

My son shot one last year also. But they are not common and much prized.

I also shot two Canada Geese with red plastic bands on the feet from the same flock. Park geese from Regina, Saskatchewan wintering in Nebraska. Live in the lake around the Capital building in downtown Regina all summer. Should be using a bag of Doritos for decoys.
