i love turkey hunting..love it love it love it. it will more than likely be the animal i hunt the longest, once i become an older guy that hates to hike. :)

i still have yet to knock one down with my pellet gun. i hope to get my mil-dot thing figured out, do the DOPE card and go for the brain shot on a turkey soon!!

i started shooting my bow again..that is always fun!! bow hunting a big bird..

YAY!! spring!!!

Yeah yeah, rub it in. Im ready for this snow to be gone. Winter is fun for a while, but then it needs to screw off. Just got home from 2 weeks at sea. Been up 37 hours, drove 7 hours home. Want to take a shower.. no water. Pipes frozen. Home weather station showing it hit -4°f while i was gone. Had heaters on in pump house, breaker must have tripped, and im too damned tired to go slog through the snow in the dark to deal with it. Come on spring, come on.

Ah turkey hunting something to do in-between December and September. I love it! I built a kill house over the winter and just got it set up in one of my best turkey spots. I’ll find out in 10 days what season the boys and I drew. I like getting the first crack at them in the early season, but the later longer season has its benefits too. I’m planning on filming some turkey hunts this year as well. 50 degrees and sunny on Wednesday should make for some good bow shooting weather.

Plowed again yesterday but it looks like we might be seeing temperatures high enough to start melting the snow this week so I guess spring is attempting to make itself felt.

update.

i suck with an airgun. i didnt factor for a turkey to walk in REALLY close. pointblank range..about 8 feet. i was shooting under his chin..the distance of my scope and barrel..DUH!!

on the bright side, when a bird walks away slowly..annoyed by the "poof" sound. you have time to reach down and grab a shotgun.

three birds down..one arrow kill. my brother and i.

I dont know if I would ever confess on this forum that I didnt love my wife

Thursday I went to put out some bear bait on low elevation. Never cut a bear track in the 2 day snow.
250 yards of tough, miserable, too deep, sinking, into snow.

In the valley canyuon I should have launched a raft the water was cascading though the snow n the side hills,
And we canceled our motels for Yellowstone,.. the road though Norris is still snow covered and closed.
