Talk about beginner's luck + preparation - After weeks of learning my unit (17), which is just minutes from my house in central NM, I ambushed this guy in a small draw that I had spotted from before. I'm not happy it took two shots, due my heart going crazy, and I learned a lot on my first time field dressing, but what a buck and what a way to pay off my hard work. I employed quite a lot of tips I've picked up here (gutless, chile powder on game bags, etc.) so I felt I had to share. 6x5, by the way, so I guess I have to get him mounted
