Raising Them Right

Postby Indian Summer » 12 02, 2013 •  [Post 1]

Here's a buddies two sons after day 1 of the Pa gun season. What a day! One to remember for sure. The one on the left is 10 years old and was on a Mentor Hunt. His first deer. I just absolutely love this picture and couldn't wait to share it. THAT is what it's all about huh! :D

Very nice. I helped my buddy the other day get one of his boys first deer. It is great to see youngsters out hunting. Have a couple more years till my daughter will get her first "solo" deer.

Outstanding! This is how we raise the next generation of smart, ethical hunters, and keep hunting a viable tradition in this country. I have enjoyed taking my nephew hunting more than my solo hunts. I was with him when he got both his cow elk, the thrill of that far surpasses getting my own game. Take a youth hunting :!:

Awesome stuff! But man, that makes hunting tough after starting out with deer like that. Nice bucks.

Awesome, great deer :D Also this is what is needed, more youth getting involved in hunting. It is also fantastic that this was a mentored hunt.

Me neither Paul!

I've guided lots of people to elk. Tons of first elk too. But the one I cherish most is 3 years ago when I put my 13 year old niece on her first a really big cow. She packed a quarter the whole way (200 yards lol) back to the truck. It was awesome!!!

I hate to rain on the parade but I see a problem. The bar is set too high after that experience!

Kidding aside, nothing like watching kids experience hunting through their young eyes.
