Theory prooved again

Postby ishy » 05 20, 2016 •  [Post 1]

Yesterday I was suppose to put 5 hours in on a bike, and the road bike was in the shop. So I thought about a logging area that I wanted to put some hours in on my mountain bike. Now bear season is open, but it was middle of the day and I didn't have time to gather a bunch of gear to hunt off the bike let alone take care of a bear if I shot one. So my theory is if you don't take a weapon during a given season, just how much do the odds of seeing that critter go up?
Sure enough 2 in the afternoon 50 yards from the closest tree a nice blackie got a pretty good scare from a crazy going way too fast on a mountain bike. He knew he was in a bad spot and didn't give me enough time to get the camera out before he exploded for cover.

Agreed. Best way to see critters is to leave your bullets, gun, arrows, trigger, etc. at home or in camp.

Getting out of a goose blind always works for geese
But getting caught with your pants down and toilet paper in hand seems to work too
