September 1st, plan "A"

Postby wawhitey » 07 14, 2018 •  [Post 1]

I'll be in a treestand, bow at the ready, to knock this guy down september 1st. Heres a few pics. Only thing hes lacking is tine length, but all his tips are still boulbus, will get longer after these pics. Out of a few hundred pics of him, not a single angle shows all his pts. Hes an 8x7. As of now hes my target for early september. Will only have the first 4 days or so of september to hunt before leaving for alaska for about 2 months, but this spot, every year, the bucks there in velvet in summer, theyre all there daylight in september, so i like my odds. Never hunted this spot, just been watching it via tcam for a few years. Decided its time to hang a stand. Wish me luck.

This was my "plan C" spot for early season, but after this cam check, its been bumped up. Still 7000 pics to look through too. So far also got pics of a lion spooking a moose off the minerals just this morning, and a couple bears humpin and fightin.

Looks like just a 3 or maybe 4 year old buck, but hes just too cool looking. I wouldnt consider letting him walk in hopes of seeing him in 3 years. Too much of this type of crap there to count on a deer surviving from year to year.

Uggh. Work schedule... so now its looking like ill only get 3 or 4 days in early sept to go after the old boy ive been watching for several years. And i have no idea where he goes after sept. Sure hoping i can pull a rabbit out of my hat in that time. If not, i know where plenty of big bucks run around late season, and have a couple stands up in that area already. At least ill get the entire 35 day late archery season off. Guess i cant complain at that.
