Huh? I have no idea. I just hope they keep it on cable so I don't have to watch any of it.

Im not a football fan.Wrong time of year!
Years back in Washington students wanted me to coach football,.. knowing I wasnt a football kind of guy.
I called a buddy; who when he was on the Vikings I would sneak him home.
Anyway I called and asked about coaching,..

"Do you even know what position I played?" knowing the answer. He was some sort lineman ;)

I’ve been cursed for life to be a tortured Vikings fan. Thankfully they let me down this year before the playoffs. With us Vikings fans it’s not a question of if we will be let down, it’s when.

Mitch, you sound like a hold-over from the Fran Tarkenton days. A great player, but never quite able to get to the big prize. I am no football fan, but would be pleased to see the Vikings win it all for once.

Swede - you are correct. My dad was the elementary principal in a town just south of Mankato. We used to go to Vikings training camp every year. Got all the autographs from back then - Purple People Eaters, Fran, Foreman, Bud Grant. I’m less and less interested in the NFL with all the political garbage and leftist demonstrations. So the year I quit watching it will be the year the Vikings finally win it all.

Here is a recent story about Bud Grant, the long ago football coach of the Vikings. He is now in his 90s and decided to go big game hunting in Canada (I forget what he was hunting, but I think it was deer). His fly-in plane crashes. He lives. And proceeds to continue his hunt, all while over 90 years old!

Sometimes I prefer to have the Vikes bow out of contention early in the season so I am not tempted to watch them on a Sunday afternoon. But I usually DVR them and watch them that night. Kinda funny how that works, every person I meet I have to start out the conversation by saying, "I have the Vikes taped, so don't say anything about the game". Of course there is always some dumbhead who says something like, "I wouldn't waste your time" or "It was a GREAT game!". NO! Don't tell me ANYTHING!!!!

Mitch, I am not much of a sports fan and don't focus a lot on what goes on in sports. But, from where I am, it looks like the black people are getting fed up with being treated differently, and abused. They are tired of being killed for being black. At least that is how I think they are seeing it. The people on the left, side with them, while the people on the right want to silence them. Just my observation as an outsider. I am not trying to start an argument about any case, but that is what I think is going on.

I miss that little town. Been quite a few years since I’ve been back there.

Bummer that we’ve got the Pats in the SB again. Why the NFL allows a coin flip to determine a winner in OT is beyond me. When the team with an unstoppable offense and a bad defense losses the coin toss, it’s basically over.

Yesterday was disappointing. The Saints were robbed of a red zone opportunity on a flagrant no-call, so the Rams advance under a damn dark cloud. And the other game, while well-contested, had the same lame outcome as in most recent years. Hating the Pats is no longer enough to keep me interested in playoff football.

And worst of all, Lindsey Vonn is probably too injured to compete in ski racing @ her elite level (Yes, ski racing happens even in non-Olympic years). Guess I'll be watching the SB commercials on Youtube again this Feb.

I'm a ski racer too - just start watching Mikaela Shiffrin!
